It is our immense pleasure to welcome you to the 3rd National Obesity Scientific Conference (NOSC 2027), organised by the Malaysian Obesity Society (MYOS), which will be held on the 8^th - 9^th May 2027, Connexion Conference & Event Centre (The Vertical).

Under the theme “Transforming Obesity Care: Precision Meets Practice,” NOSC hopes to showcase an important evolution in obesity management, globally as well as nationally. We have moved on from recognising obesity as a chronic, progressive disease to effectively identifying the illness, to comprehensively assessing the related obesity-related conditions and finally to delivering personalised, evidence-based and meaningful treatment to every individual suffering from obesity.

The challenge now is no longer simply knowing what works, but understanding what works best, for whom, and how we should translate it into everyday clinical practice. NOSC 2027 will bring together clinicians, researchers and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to bridge this gap through cutting-edge science, practical insights and case-based learning from true experts, and meaningful collaborations across disciplines.

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 3^rd National Obesity Scientific Conference (NOSC) 2027, themed “Transforming Obesity Care: Precision Meets Practice.”

Building upon the success of NOSC 2026, we have been greatly encouraged by the tremendous enthusiasm and growing appetite among Malaysia’s healthcare fraternity to advance the way we understand, discuss and manage obesity. This momentum reflects an important shift: obesity is increasingly recognised not simply as a risk factor, but as a complex, chronic disease that demands evidence-based, multidisciplinary and individualised care.

For NOSC 2027, our ambition is to take the next step - from knowledge to transformation. Our scientific programme has been carefully conceived to bring together impactful emerging science, precision approaches to obesity, and the realities of everyday clinical practice. We will explore how advances in our understanding of obesity biology, phenotyping, therapeutics and multidisciplinary care can be translated into meaningful changes in how obesity is managed across Malaysia.

The theme “Precision Meets Practice” reflects our belief that scientific advances achieve their greatest value when they reach the people who need them. Through thought-provoking plenaries, practical clinical discussions, multidisciplinary perspectives and opportunities for scientific exchange, we hope to challenge existing practice patterns, address persistent gaps in care, and equip healthcare professionals with knowledge that can be translated into action.
