Prof. Dr. Ahmad Izuanuddin Ismail is a distinguished academic and Consultant Respiratory Physician with a career spanning over two decades. He completed his medical degree from University College Dublin in 2002 and attained his MRCP in 2007. Currently, Prof. Izuan serves as a Professor of Medicine at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and Deputy Clinical Director at Hospital Al Sultan Abdullah, UiTM. His leadership roles include past tenure as Medical Director at UiTM Private Specialist Centre and Deputy Dean of Clinical Services. An avid researcher, Prof. Izuan has published extensively in areas such as tuberculosis, COPD, asthma, and sleep-disordered breathing. He has been the principal investigator for numerous international clinical trials and recipient of multiple research grants. Prof Izuan is the current President of Malaysian Thoracic Society (MTS), Sleep Disorder Society Malaysia (SDSM), and APSR 2026 Congress. He is also the Vice President of College of Physicians Malaysia (CoPM).

Doctor Alexander Tan is Consultant Endocrinologist at Sunway Medical Centre. Doctor Tan graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2001, became a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCPUK) in 2005 and completed his subspecialty endocrinology training in 2010. He was elected to be a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) of Edinburgh in 2016. He was instrumental in the formation of the Diabetes Care Unit at University of Malaya Medical Centre, a one-stop centre for all diabetes related clinical services. He has presented research in the fields of diabetes mellitus and bone health at both local and international conferences. He has also been Principal Investigator for numerous clinical trials. He served as an Executive Committee Member for the Malaysian Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (MSGH) between 2015 and 2021. Assoc Prof Dr Chong Chun Wie

Dr Chong Chun Wie is a leading figure in gut microbiome science in Malaysia. His work bridges the fields of microbial ecology, public health, and digital technology. He is the Director of the (FUTURE) Monash Microbiome Research Centre at Monash University Malaysia. In collaboration with the ROME foundation, the centre is embarking on the quest to collect the world's largest microbiome dataset for the disorder of gut-brain interaction. Dr Chong also co-led the 1000MYMicrobiome Project, a pioneering initiative to map the gut health of Malaysia's multi-ethnic population. His significant research impact is demonstrated through his leadership of large-scale, multidisciplinary studies on the gut-brain axis and his successful acquisition of competitive funding from both national bodies and global industry partners, including DSM firmenich and Amway. Through his research, which spans neurodegenerative disorders, nutrition, and metabolic diseases, he has published over 100 research articles.

Prof. Lim is a Senior Consultant Endocrinologist and Head of the Department of Research, Development, and Innovation at Universiti Malaya (UM), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She is the former Head of the Diabetes Care Unit, Universiti Malaya (2022-2025). She also holds honorary positions at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, Melbourne, Australia. As a clinician-scientist, Prof. Lim’s major areas of interest are cardiometabolic medicine (epidemiology, molecular, and implementation science). Prof. Lim sits on the Scientific Work Groups of the ADA/EASD Precision Medicine in Diabetes Initiative and the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Diabetes Compact. She has published more than 130 peer-reviewed articles, including in The Lancet and Nature. Prof. Lim has received several awards e.g., 2025 Malaysia Scopus Research Star Award, UM’s Top Cited Researcher 2024, World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University (2022- 2025), and the EFSD Albert Renold Fellowship, tenable at the University of Oxford, UK.
Prof Dr Muhammad Yazid Jalaludin

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yazid Jalaludin is a leading authority in Paediatrics, Paediatric Endocrinology, and Diabetes. Dr Thum graduated with an MBBS in 2006 and have practiced in PPUM, HRPB and Hospital Putrajaya where he obtained his MRCP UK and MMED Internal Medicine Singapore. After being gazetted as an Internal Medicine Specialist, he commenced his Cardiology training at IJN and subsequently became a cardiologist in 2021. He currently serves as the Head of Upper GI surgery and Head of Clinical Nutrition at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre, and routinely performs metabolic surgery for individuals with EOSS stages 3 and above.
