Professor Dr Winnie Chee is a leading academic and registered dietitian in Malaysia with over 30 years of experience in clinical nutrition, research, and education. Her work has significantly advanced the role of medical nutrition therapy in the management of cardiometabolic kidney diseases and she has led multiple clinical trials, published over 100 peer-reviewed papers with strong focus on culturally adapted lifestyle interventions in Asian populations. As one of the founding member of the Malaysian Dietitians’ Association (MDA), Prof. Chee has played a pivotal role in shaping the dietetics profession in Malaysia, having served as President (2014–2020), current Vice-President, and Council Member of the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC). In addition, Prof. Chee serves as a Consultant Dietitian at IMU Healthcare, where she provides medical nutrition therapy for patients with cardio-kidney metabolic diseases. Her vision is to strengthen Malaysia’s capacity in nutrition science and innovation through evidence-based research, digital health solutions, and translational practice that empower individuals and communities to achieve better health outcomes through food as medicine.
Dr Wong Wei Jin

Dr Wong has had a long-standing interest in bariatric surgery, having seen its benefits first-hand as a surgical medical officer in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, KK. He continued to pursue this interest, obtaining his Masters of Surgery in 2018, and subsequently completing his training in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery under the tutelage of Professor Huang Chih-Kun, in China Medical Hospital and University, Taichung in 2023. He currently serves as the Head of Upper GI surgery and Head of Clinical Nutrition at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre, and routinely performs metabolic surgery for individuals with EOSS stages 3 and above.
