Prof. Dr. Ahmad Izuanuddin Ismail is a distinguished academic and Consultant Respiratory Physician with a career spanning over two decades. He completed his medical degree from University College Dublin in 2002 and attained his MRCP in 2007. Currently, Prof. Izuan serves as a Professor of Medicine at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and Deputy Clinical Director at Hospital Al Sultan Abdullah, UiTM. His leadership roles include past tenure as Medical Director at UiTM Private Specialist Centre and Deputy Dean of Clinical Services. An avid researcher, Prof. Izuan has published extensively in areas such as tuberculosis, COPD, asthma, and sleep-disordered breathing. He has been the principal investigator for numerous international clinical trials and recipient of multiple research grants. Prof Izuan is the current President of Malaysian Thoracic Society (MTS), Sleep Disorder Society Malaysia (SDSM), and APSR 2026 Congress. He is also the Vice President of College of Physicians Malaysia (CoPM).

Doctor Alexander Tan is Consultant Endocrinologist at Sunway Medical Centre. Doctor Tan graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2001, became a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCPUK) in 2005 and completed his subspecialty endocrinology training in 2010. He was elected to be a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) of Edinburgh in 2016. He was instrumental in the formation of the Diabetes Care Unit at University of Malaya Medical Centre, a one-stop centre for all diabetes related clinical services. He has presented research in the fields of diabetes mellitus and bone health at both local and international conferences. He has also been Principal Investigator for numerous clinical trials. Doctor Tan is actively involved in speaking at various local and national level conferences.

Associate Professor Dr. Azriyanti Anuar Zaini is a Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist and Senior Lecturer at the University of Malaya. Specializing in paediatric endocrine, she completed her training in Malaysia and Oxford, becoming a full- time consultant in 2015. Dr. Azriyanti significantly contributes to the field through her clinical practice, research, and training of future specialists. She has authored books and numerous scientific articles in reputable journals, covering topics like diabetes, thyroid, and growth disorders. Her insights have been instrumental in shaping paediatric endocrinology and improving patient care.

Prof Dr Barakatun Nisak Mohd Yusof is a Professor of Nutrition and Dietetics at Universiti Putra Malaysia and a leading expert in diabetes, metabolic obesity, and Ramadan nutrition. She has been part of the international Ramadan Nutrition Plan (RNP) group since 2015 and leads research on the Malaysian Diabetes RNP (MyDia RNP). As President of the Malaysian Dietitians’ Association and Deputy Dean (Academic & Student Affairs), her work advances chronic disease management, professional standards, and evidence-based nutrition care.

Dr Chan is Professor of Medicine, Director of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and Senior Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at the University of Malaya, the University of Malaya Medical Centre and the University of Malaya Specialist Centre. He served as an Executive Committee Member for the Malaysian Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (MSGH) between 2015 and 2021. He was the Scientific Co-Chair and a core member of the Organizing Committee for the Asian Pacific Digestive Week (APDW) 2021. He completed two terms as Associate Editor for the Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology between 2018 and 2023, and is a current member of the Editorial Board for Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Alimentary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, and Clinical and Molecular Hepatology. He is recognized as one of the top 2% scientists in the world in their respective fields in a single year in 2023 and 2024.

Dr Chong Chun Wie is a leading figure in gut microbiome science in Malaysia. His work bridges the fields of microbial ecology, public health, and digital technology. He is the Director of the (FUTURE) Monash Microbiome Research Centre at Monash University Malaysia. In collaboration with the ROME foundation, the centre is embarking on the quest to collect the world's largest microbiome dataset for the disorder of gut-brain interaction. Dr Chong also co-led the 1000MYMicrobiome Project, a pioneering initiative to map the gut health of Malaysia's multi-ethnic population. His significant research impact is demonstrated through his leadership of large-scale, multidisciplinary studies on the gut-brain axis and his successful acquisition of competitive funding from both national bodies and global industry partners, including DSM firmenich and Amway. Through his research, which spans neurodegenerative disorders, nutrition, and metabolic diseases, he has published over 100 research articles.

Professor Dr. Christopher Lim Thiam Seong is a senior consultant nephrologist at Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS) and Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia. He is currently the Chair of the Nephrology Specialist Training and Examination Committee in Nephrology. His clinical and research interests focus on diabetic kidney disease, chronic kidney disease, and translational nephrology, particularly biomarker-driven risk stratification and contemporary renoprotective therapies. He has published over 100 citational journals and leads many national and international collaborative research, with a strong commitment to evidence-based, patient-centred kidney care.

Dr. Devamalar is a consultant Sports Medicine Physician at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, Klang. She has been practising as a specialist in this field for the past 17 years. Among the services offered are Exercise Prescription Clinic for adult and Paediatric patients with Obesity and Chronic disease and is currently running a program for adult obese patients. She is the task force member for the 3rd Edition of the Diabetes Education Manual and an expert panel for Malaysia’s first comprehensive Diabetes Lifestyle Advocate program (DLP Program). She has also contributed several articles for health Magazines and co-authored several case reports and posters. She has been invited as a speaker for numerous seminars, conferences, and forums at state, national and regional levels. She has also been invited as facilitator for several workshops related to obesity and diabetes. She is a member of several organizations and professional associations.

Prof Dr Firdaus Mukhtar is a Professor and Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Universiti Putra Malaysia. She is the Past President of Asian CBT Association, and involved directly in developing World Confederation CBT Training Guidelines. In May 2024, she won The Pavlov’s Award and in 2023, she was appointed as the Global CBT Ambassador to recognise her contribution in CBT development. Dr Firdaus was a CBT consultant for the World Health Organization (WHO) in Malaysia to develop a CBT manual to manage chronic medical illness at primary care and she has extensive experience as conference’s international advisor for both 10th World Congress CBT in Seoul and 8th Asian CBT Congress in New Delhi. In 2012, Dr Firdaus was awarded the L’Oreal Malaysia Young Women Scientist for her vast contribution in psychological research and more than 20 years of experience in providing training to medical and allied health professionals around South East Asia.

Dr Geeta Appannah is a Professor of Nutrition and Dietetics and leads the Centre for Transformative Nutrition and Health at IMU University, Malaysia. A Cambridge PhD graduate, her research examines the dietary determinants of health, focusing on obesity, cardiometabolic risk, and bone health across the lifespan, while also exploring broader influences such as food affordability and social factors. Her expertise is highly sought in global policy and scientific circles. She serves on the WHO Committee on Dietary Guidelines (from 2024), the World Obesity Federation’s Policy and Prevention Committee, and is an Academic Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Her leadership roles include Immediate Past President of the Malaysian Association for the Study of Obesity and Treasurer for the Asia-Oceania Association for the Study of Obesity. An active editor and reviewer for leading journals, Dr. Appannah is a key advisor in developing national and international nutrition guidelines, effectively bridging rigorous research with real-world policy impact.

Dr. Goay Swee En is a Cardiologist at Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), where he is actively involved in several core areas of cardiology, including interventional cardiology, heart failure management, and pulmonary hypertension. He also has a strong interest in preventive cardiology, advocating for early intervention and lifestyle modification as key strategies in reducing cardiovascular risk. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Goay is a regular speaker and contributor at both local and international cardiology conferences. His research is primarily focused on heart failure and the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, reflecting his ongoing dedication to advancing evidence-based cardiac care.

Prof. Lim is a Senior Consultant Endocrinologist and Head of the Department of Research, Development, and Innovation at Universiti Malaya (UM), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She is the former Head of the Diabetes Care Unit, Universiti Malaya (2022-2025). She also holds honorary positions at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, Melbourne, Australia. As a clinician-scientist, Prof. Lim’s major areas of interest are cardiometabolic medicine (epidemiology, molecular, and implementation science). Prof. Lim sits on the Scientific Work Groups of the ADA/EASD Precision Medicine in Diabetes Initiative and the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Diabetes Compact. She has published more than 130 peer-reviewed articles, including in The Lancet and Nature. Prof. Lim has received several awards e.g., 2025 Malaysia Scopus Research Star Award, UM’s Top Cited Researcher 2024, World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University (2022- 2025), and the EFSD Albert Renold Fellowship, tenable at the University of Oxford, UK.

Dr Lim Quan Hziung is an Endocrinologist and Medical Lecturer at Universiti Malaya (UM) and Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC). He serves on the UMMC Diabetes Care Unit, managing patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes and coordinating comprehensive diabetes care. He is also an active committee member of the Malaysian Obesity Society (MYOS) Council. His research interests include diabetes, population metabolic health, obesity, and related comorbidities. He is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in internal medicine, endocrinology, and diabetes.

Dr Mark Mellor is a specialist general practitioner from the UK working in Perth, Western Australia, with a clinical focus on obesity and metabolic health. He is founder and clinical lead of Perth Weight Clinic and co-founder and clinical lead of Cardiometabolic Services, multidisciplinary clinics delivering evidence-based obesity care in primary and specialist settings. Dr Mellor holds RACGP Recognition of Extended Skills in Obesity Management and a postgraduate diploma in obesity management. He is Western Australia Lead for the RACGP Obesity Specific Interest Group and chairs a subgroup of the Australian Heart Foundation obesity and cardiovascular disease taskforce. His work focuses on practical, evidence-based obesity management in primary care, including pharmacotherapy, behavioural support and multidisciplinary care. Dr Mellor is an active researcher and educator who regularly presents on obesity and cardiometabolic health.

Dr Md Syazwan Md Amin is an Internal Medicine Physician and Endocrinologist serving in the Malaysian public health sector, with a strong commitment to improving the care of complex medical and endocrine conditions. He completed his Fellowship in Endocrinology under the Ministry of Health Malaysia in 2022, following a Master’s in Internal Medicine from the University of Malaya and prior to that, a medical degree from the National University of Ireland, Galway. He is currently based at Hospital Putrajaya, where he runs clinical endocrine services and heads the Obesity Clinic, driving service development and a new holistic online obesity management programme. Dr Syazwan is actively involved in teaching, supervision of endocrine fellows and postgraduate trainees, and serves as faculty at hospital and district-level educational programmes. He has contributed in research especially in diabetes treatment and diabetes in pregnancy with publications in international peer-reviewed journals and ongoing involvement in diabetes and obesity research.

Dr Mohamad ‘Ariff Fahmi bin Ahmad Zawawi is a Malaysian Family Medicine Specialist currently at Klinik Kesihatan Bandar Botanik, Klang, Selangor. He obtained his MB BCh BAO from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (2009) and completed a Master of Medicine (Family Medicine) at Universiti Sains Malaysia (2018). He further strengthened his expertise in obesity care with a Postgraduate Diploma in Obesity and Weight Management from the University of South Wales (2023), and is a World Obesity Federation SCOPE Certified Professional (since 2021). His career spans diverse clinical settings across Malaysia, including service in Kelantan and Sabah, with gazettement as a Family Medicine Specialist in 2019 and subsequent specialist postings before moving to Selangor. He also completed Advanced Training in Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) in Primary Care under Hadiah Latihan Persekutuan KKM (2022–2025). Dr Ariff contributes actively to national guidance and education, including work on post-COVID primary care recommendations and protocols. His research and publications focus on obesity care, multidisciplinary follow-up, and clinician self-efficacy, with papers in Obesity Reviews (2023) and Malaysian Family Physician (2024). He is the Assistant Secretary of the Malaysian Obesity Society and is engaged in professional training and speaking on evidence-based obesity management in primary care.

Assoc. Prof Dr Mohd Nahar Azmi Mohamed is a Senior Medical Lecturer and Senior Consultant Sports Physician in the Department of Sports Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya / UMMC. He was appointed Head of the Department of Sports Medicine from June 2012 until December 2023. He is currently the Head of the Wellness Unit, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yazid Jalaludin is a leading authority in Paediatrics, Paediatric Endocrinology, and Diabetes. He is Professor of Paediatrics at Universiti Malaya and Senior Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre and UM Specialist Centre. He also serves as Deputy Dean (Undergraduate Studies, 2021–2028) at the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya, contributing significantly to medical education and academic governance. He has held key leadership roles nationally and regionally, including President of the Asia Pacific Paediatric Endocrine Society (2018–2020) and President of the Malaysian Paediatric Association (2017–2019). He is currently President of Diabetes Malaysia (2025–2027), advocating for improved diabetes care, education, and equitable access to technology. Prof. Jalaludin has received numerous honours, including the Outstanding Asian Paediatrician Award (2024), and is a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia and the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia. A prolific clinician-scientist, he has authored over 120 ISI-indexed publications, including two in the New England Journal of Medicine, focusing on paediatric diabetes, obesity, and metabolic disorders.

Dr. Nalini M Selveindran graduated from University of Malaya with honours in 2001 and subsequently obtained the Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2006. She subsequently completer her fellowship in Paediatric Endocrinology at the Children’s Hospital of Westmead, Sydney in 2015. She is currently a Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist at the Hospital Putrajaya, a major referral hospital for endocrine disorders in Malaysia She is currently a member of various medical societies, including the European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE), Asia Pacific Paediatric Endocrine Society (APPES), Malaysian Endocrine and Metabolic Society (MEMS) and the Malaysian Paediatric Association (MPA). She is involved in training and teaching and currently sits on the Malaysian Paediatric Endocrinology Subspecialty Training Committee. She is a member of the National Committee on Rare Diseases and is involved in the development of guidelines on the management of congenital hypothyroidism and childhood obesity. With research interests in the field of disorders of sex development and bone disorders, Dr. Nalini’s work has been published in various academic journals. She is also involved in multicentre international research for type 2 diabetes in children. She has numerous experiences presenting in conferences and workshops locally and abroad and has won various awards for her work. She has also received travel grants from ISPAD and APPES.

Dr. Ngo Choon Woon is an upper gastrointestinal surgeon with a strong clinical and academic interest in metabolic and bariatric surgery. He manages complex UGI conditions, including oesophageal and gastric pathology, while advocating a holistic, physiology-driven approach to surgical care. His work in metabolic surgery focuses on innovation beyond weight loss, emphasizing hormonal modulation, nutrition, and long-term metabolic outcomes. Actively involved in multidisciplinary teamwork and surgical education, he is committed to developing safe, thoughtful, and context- appropriate surgical solutions. Dr. Ngo regularly participates in regional and international forums, sharing practical insights on advancing metabolic and bariatric surgery within real-world healthcare systems.

Dr. Noor Mikraz Mohamad Isa is a Family Medicine Specialist and Certified Lifestyle Medicine Physician at Klinik Kesihatan Seremban 2, Negeri Sembilan. She holds a medical degree from University College Dublin and a Doctor of Medicine (Family Medicine) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, with further certification from the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Currently a subspecialty trainee in Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) in Primary Care, Dr. Noor Mikraz leads the pioneering Lifestyle Medicine Clinic at Seremban 2, a flagship collaboration between the World Health Organization, the Ministry of Health Malaysia, and the Malaysian Society of Lifestyle Medicine. As an honorary lecturer at the International Medical University and a trainer for the MINTFM program, her work focuses on integrating lifestyle interventions into clinical practice. Her research interests include chronic disease prevention, pain management, and evidence-based obesity interventions in primary care.

Professor Dr Noor Shafina Mohd Nor is the current Deputy Dean of Postgraduate & Professional Training at the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. She is also a consultant paediatrician and a consultant paediatric endocrinologist at Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah UiTM. She completed her paediatric endocrinology subspecialty training in University Malaya Medical Center, Malaysia and The Children Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA in 2015. She has numerous publications in journals, books, chapters in books as well as contributed in the national clinical guidelines. She is an active researcher and her research interest is in the area of Paediatric Endocrinology particularly Diabetes Mellitus, obesity, thyroid disorders and endocrine disruptor chemicals especially Bisphenol A.

She is a Family Medicine Specialist with the Ministry of Health Malaysia, currently serving at Klinik Kesihatan Bangi She completed her Master of Family Medicine at Universiti Putra Malaysia, and is currently pursuing subspecialty training in Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) in Primary Care. She has extensive experience in diabetes, obesity, and primary care transformation. She is actively involved in clinical training, guideline development, and research, and serves as a trainer for multiple state and national health program. Her work focuses on strengthening metabolic health, integrated NCD management, and advancing quality primary healthcare services in Malaysia.

Dr Premitha Damodaran is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Women’s Health and Menopause Specialist based at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur. She is also a Visiting Clinical Specialist at University Malaya Medical Centre. Dr Premitha obtained her MBBS from the University of Delhi and her Master of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the University of Malaya, and is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Malaysia. A strong advocate for menopause and midlife women’s health, she serves as President of the College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Academy of Medicine Malaysia, Chair of the Menopause & Midlife Women’s Health Committee of OGSM, and a Board Trustee of the International Menopause Society.

Professor Dr Rohana is the current President of the Malaysian Obesity Society (MYOS). A key contributor to national healthcare guidelines, she co-developed Malaysia’s Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) for Gestational Diabetes (2019) , Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (2021) , and Obesity (2023) . Her expertise extends internationally as Malaysia’s representative in the Asia Oceania Association for the Study of Obesity (AOASO) Consensus on Obesity Care in South/Southeast Asia.

Dr. Rokiah Ismail, PhD is a Senior Specialist Dietitian at the University Malaya Specialist Centre (UMSC), Malaysia, with over 30 years of experience in clinical nutrition. She specializes in pediatric and adolescent nutrition, diabetes, obesity, and endocrine-related nutrition disorders. Dr. Rokiah holds a PhD in Public Health Nutrition from Newcastle University (UK), a Master of Medical Sciences from the University of Malaya, and a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics from the National University of Malaysia. She also completed a Fellowship in Diabetes Management at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, Australia and Educational Outreach Program (Childhood Cancer) at the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, USA. Dr. Rokiah is actively involved in clinical practice, academic teaching, research supervision, and guideline development, and is a frequent invited speaker at national and international conferences.

Dr. Ruben Ramakrishnan is a Public Health Medicine Specialist currently serving as Technical Officer for Health Promotion and Determinants at the WHO Country Office for Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam and Singapore. With over a decade of experience in non-communicable disease (NCD) control, he has played a strategic role in advancing national obesity policy development, system strengthening and multisectoral implementation efforts in Malaysia. He currently serves as a Committee Member of the National Experts Technical Working Group (TWG) on Obesity under the Ministry of Health Malaysia and as Treasurer of the Malaysian Obesity Society (MyOS) for the 2025–2027 term. Dr Ruben is deeply committed to addressing weight stigma and championing the recognition of obesity as a chronic disease, promoting evidence-based and people-centred approaches to strengthen the national obesity agenda.

Dr Saifullah Muzakir is a dedicated medical doctor specializing in obesity management, with extensive clinical experience and a strong commitment to patient advocacy. With a passion for combating obesity through scientific, evidence-based approaches, he focuses on achieving sustainable, realistic outcomes for his patients. Dr Saifullah actively works to dispel misconceptions surrounding obesity and promotes awareness about the medical, psychological, and social challenges faced by people living with obesity.

Dr Sharifah Najwa Syed Amin Husaini is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and a SCOPE-Certified Physician in Obesity Management. Her clinical and academic interests focus on obesity care across the female lifespan, with emphasis on women’s health optimisation, preconception care, fertility, gynaecological health, menopause, and comprehensive antenatal care for women. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, and is a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG), UK. Dr Najwa has experience managing complex obstetric and gynaecological conditions, including pregnancy and reproductive health issues in women with obesity, across both public and private healthcare settings. She serves as a Council Member of the Malaysian Obstetric Medicine Society (MOMS) and is a member of the Malaysian Obesity Society (MYOS) and the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Malaysia (OGSM). She is actively involved in medical education and regularly contributes to national scientific meetings and continuing medical education programmes on women’s health and obesity.

Sindhu is a Senior Lecturer and Clinical Psychologist at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), where she leads the Clinical Psychology Unit at Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah and serves as Department Research Coordinator in Psychiatry. With over 13 years of experience, she specializes in psychometric assessments and psychological interventions for children, adolescents, and adults with developmental and psychological disorders. Trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), she adopts an eclectic, client-centred approach to treatment. She is also a member of PutraWEfit, a multidisciplinary team focused on weight management and fitness. Sindhu is actively involved in professional organizations, including ISRE, ACBTA, WCCBT, MSCP, and MSMM. Her research interests include developmental disorders, emotions, depression, music in medicine, behaviour management, and weight management. She has published extensively, presented internationally, reviewed academic journals, and volunteered with MERCY Malaysia’s mental health support team.

Professor Dato’ Dr. Syed Aljunid is a distinguished Public Health Medicine Consultant and Professor of Health Economics, Policy, and Management at IMU University. He holds a PhD in Health Economics and Financing from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, an MD from UKM, and MPH from the National University of Singapore. With over 30 years of experience, he has served in notable roles, including Founding Head of the International Centre for Casemix and Clinical Coding at UKM and Senior Research Fellow at the UNU-International Institute for Global Health. His consultancy work with organizations such as WHO, ADB, GIZ, and the World Bank has significantly influenced the development of Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRGs) in national health financing globally. Dr. Aljunid has published over 300 articles and presented at more than 350 conferences, earning recognition as one of the top 2% most cited scientists by Stanford University in 2024.

Dr. Tee Hwee Ching graduated from the University of Malaya and obtained her MRCP from the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom. She completed her fellowship training in Endocrinology with the Ministry of Health Malaysia in 2021. She is currently a Consultant Endocrinologist at Hospital Queen Elizabeth II, where she serves as the Head of the Endocrinology Unit. Her clinical interests encompass a wide range of endocrine disorders, including diabetes, thyroid diseases, obesity, and other hormonal conditions. Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Tee is actively engaged in research within the field of endocrinology. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented posters at various scientific conferences.

Dr Teoh is an accomplished clinician specializing in family and obesity medicine. He completed four years of family medicine training, along with the University of Ottawa’s Bariatric Medicine Fellowship, China Medical University Hospital’s Clinical Bariatric Fellowship, and the Cleveland Clinic’s Obesity Medicine Preceptorship. He established his obesity medicine practice at USM Medical Centre and Sunway Medical Centre Penang. His international recognitions include the OMA’s Peter G. Lindner Award, Fellowships with the OMA, the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine, and the Integrated Health Fellowship of IFSO, as well as the World Obesity Federation’s SCOPE Fellowship and Leadership Program. Dr. Teoh currently serves as Vice President of the Malaysian Obesity Society.

Dr Thum graduated with an MBBS in 2006 and have practiced in PPUM, HRPB and Hospital Putrajaya where he obtained his MRCP UK and MMED Internal Medicine Singapore. After being gazetted as an Internal Medicine Specialist, he commenced his Cardiology training at IJN and subsequently became a cardiologist in 2021. Dr. Thum also completed the European Exam In Core Cardiology and EAS Certified Excellence in Lipidology. In 2025, he became the first certified Preventive Cardiologist in Malaysia, achieving First Class Honors and the Gold Medal in MSc in Preventive Cardiology NUIG. He is currently the Deputy Director of the Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Clinic IJN and is involved in numerous related researches and publications. He is also actively involved in local and international cardiology conferences.

Senior Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist with over 25 years of clinical, academic, and leadership experience across India and Malaysia. Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (UK) with recognized expertise in high-risk obstetrics, cosmetic gynecology, women’s wellness, hormone optimization, and regenerative medicine. Actively involved in national and international training programs, guideline development, public health advocacy, and media education. Currently Head of Department at ParkCity Medical Centre, Malaysia.

Professor Dr Winnie Chee is a leading academic and registered dietitian in Malaysia with over 30 years of experience in clinical nutrition, research, and education. Her work has significantly advanced the role of medical nutrition therapy in the management of cardiometabolic kidney diseases and she has led multiple clinical trials, published over 100 peer-reviewed papers with strong focus on culturally adapted lifestyle interventions in Asian populations. As one of the founding member of the Malaysian Dietitians’ Association (MDA), Prof. Chee has played a pivotal role in shaping the dietetics profession in Malaysia, having served as President (2014–2020), current Vice-President, and Council Member of the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC). In addition, Prof. Chee serves as a Consultant Dietitian at IMU Healthcare, where she provides medical nutrition therapy for patients with cardio-kidney metabolic diseases. Her vision is to strengthen Malaysia’s capacity in nutrition science and innovation through evidence-based research, digital health solutions, and translational practice that empower individuals and communities to achieve better health outcomes through food as medicine.

Dr Wong has had a long-standing interest in bariatric surgery, having seen its benefits first-hand as a surgical medical officer in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, KK. He continued to pursue this interest, obtaining his Masters of Surgery in 2018, and subsequently completing his training in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery under the tutelage of Professor Huang Chih-Kun, in China Medical Hospital and University, Taichung in 2023. He currently serves as the Head of Upper GI surgery and Head of Clinical Nutrition at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre, and routinely performs metabolic surgery for individuals with EOSS stages 3 and above.
